ATTITUDE:

           Yeon Seo is consistently cooperative in class and shows high willingness to learn and improve.  She shows interest in small talks with the teacher which is a clear indication of how much she wants to communicate with others in English.  There were a few classes when she looked tired but she did not waver from listening intently and being responsive.

 

READING:

            Yeon Seo's reading skill is at the Developing phase.  Though she can read most basic and simple words quite clearly, she still needs to be closely guided on pronunciation to make sure she can follow through.   With the way she does at reading, she has the potential to become so much better in a matter of months. Once vocabulary advances, so does reading.  The teacher is excited to see how much improvement Yeon Seo can achieve.

 

COMPREHENSION:

            Listening Comprehension could be between Beginning and Developing stages.  She listens actively and understands some few, basic words and sentences and from observation, she can understand but just really cannot express herself clearly at this point.  Reading comprehension is at the Developing stage.  It can be said that she has a quite good background of basic vocabulary because she usually does not encounter any difficulty understanding the lesson materials.

 

SPEAKING AND PRONUNCIATION:

          Speaking ability is at the Beginning phrase since Yeon Seo is still establishing her vocabulary knowledge.  However, she likes engaging in small talks with the teacher during classes, which is a good sign that she can develop this skill earlier than expected.  Pronunciation is at the Developing stage because she is still very young and still getting familiar with the proper way of saying words and phrases.  Though she knows many simple words already, she still needs guidance from the teacher to make sure the pronunciation and word stress are correct.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS/COMMENTS:

            The teacher encourages Yeon Seo to watch more American TV shows, movies, and cartoons for kids.  This method can help in developing the English vocabulary further and get herself familiar to the accent and the way Americans speak in actual conversations.

FUTURE GOALS:

            The teacher will continue to do small talks during class while making use of the vocabulary learned from the lesson to help Yeon Seo understand how the words can be used in actual English conversations.
