Student’s Name: Justine
Teacher’s Name: Khris
Book's name: Weaving It Together 3
Pages: Pages 21-41 (pages covered in the month of June)
Justine is very confident though receptive of feedback and corrections. He is honest when there is something he is not clear about and has the initative to ask for help from the teacher. He shows interest to engage in small talks with the teacher and takes classes with enthusiasm.
Justine's reading skill is Proficient. He does not have any difficulties reading English words, even the much longer ones. He sometimes encounters words that are unfamiliar to him but he still can read them quite well. When this happens, he just needs a little guidance from the teacher and can manage from there.
Both listening and reading comprehension skills are at the Proficient level. Because of his wide knowledge on English vocabulary, he can understand the things he listens to and reads. When there is something he does not understand, he clarifies. So far, he is not having any difficulties following instructions given either verbally or in writing.
SPEAKING AND PRONUNCIATION:
Justine can already manage actual conversations well with the use of many English words and correct sentence structures. He can practically express his thoughts and feelings quite clearly. As for pronunciation, there is a tendency to interchange B and V. Other than this, he can pronounce everything well. Speaking and pronunciation are definitely at Proficiency level.
The teacher encourages Justine to try watching more American movies and TV programs to learn more English words and phrases used in everyday conversations. Also, it is suggested that he practice words with the B and V sounds, record his voice using his cellphone and have it listened to by the teacher so he can minimize the usual pronunciation mistakes that happen to him in class.
The teacher will give Justine some B and V pronunciation exercises and ask him to record his voice so we can work on this area of opportunity in the next classes.
