Levels of Proficiency Developing – The student at this level possesses the minimum knowledge and skills and core understandings, but needs help throughout the performance of authentic tasks.
 
ATTITUDE: Dan-e   is very active and energetic during the lessons. She doesn't need much guidance from her teacher when she is answering the activities from the workbook that she has. Though her teacher needs to correct the student. Her teacher is keeping her fingers crossed that she will still continue her positive attitude the rest of the way, while the student is going through her English journey.
 
READING: Dan-e's reading skill can be considered as Developing. This is because there are still some words and phrases which are unfamiliar, hard for her to remember and pronounce. The student has a tendency to mumble whenever she doesn’t know how to read a particular word, phrase or sentence. The positive aspect on her reading skill is that, when the teacher corrects the student on how a particular word should be read, the student will be repeating that particular unfamiliar word over and over until he becomes familiar with it.
 
COMPREHENSION: Dan-e’s comprehension skill can be considered as Developing. This is because her teacher needs to repeat some instructions twice whenever they’re having lessons. The student can immediately understand what he has read by answering the reading check-up without much of an issue. This is a sign that the student has a developing good English comprehension skill.
 
SPEAKING AND PRONUNCIATION: Dan-e’s speaking and pronunciation skills can be considered as Developing. This is because the student can express what she wants to say using the English language. Unlike with other students who need the aid of a virtual / online dictionary first before they can express themselves in English, with Dan-e, she can  say what she wants to say without much trouble. The only minor setback to her speaking and pronunciation skills is her lack of vocabulary which can easily be fixed by having vocabulary activities during classes.
 
RECOMMENDATIONS/COMMENTS: Her teacher is encouraging her to practice reading new and unfamiliar words during his free time. This can be done by taking notes of those words and then asking his teacher during class time how to properly pronounce them.
